Join us for an instructional photo tour and workshop in Alaska, the Last Frontier. This trip is designed to help you capture the state's awe-inspiring landscapes and wildlife from the unique perspective of a private yacht. We’ll visit remote locations that large vessels can’t access, providing exclusive opportunities to photograph dramatic coastal fjords, glaciers, towering mountains, dense forests, and an abundance of wildlife, including coastal brown bears, black bears, whales, and bald eagles.
Bears
Alaska is a photographer's paradise when it comes to bears. We’ll explore some of the most renowned bear habitats in the state, including the Anan Creek Bear Observatory. Admiralty Island, Pack Creek, and the islands of Baranof and Chichagof are home to some of the highest concentrations of brown bears in the world, while Anan Creek is a perfect spot for photographing black bears in their natural environment.
Whales
We will visit several areas teeming with Humpback whales. The protected waters of the Inside Passage provide some of the best whale-watching opportunities on the planet, allowing for stunning photography of these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
Wildlife
The Inside Passage is rich in wildlife, with countless opportunities to capture iconic Alaskan species. We’ll explore nearby regions that serve as vital habitats for whales, bears, bald eagles, puffins, seals, Dall’s porpoises, and sea lions. You’ll have plenty of chances to photograph the diverse wildlife that thrives in this remarkable part of the world.
Fjords and Glaciers
Throughout the tour, we’ll be surrounded by spectacular snowcapped mountains, glaciers, rivers, and fjords. One highlight will be our visit to Tracy Arm Fjord, a breathtaking location known for its towering tidewater glaciers, offering a truly photogenic setting.
The Boat
Our home for this adventure will be an 87-foot private yacht, providing a comfortable base for our photography excursions. The yacht features an open layout with four spacious common areas and panoramic views from every room. There’s ample space to gather as a group or enjoy quiet moments to read, review photos, or download images. With six guest rooms and a 360-degree wraparound deck, this yacht is specifically designed for tours and offers ideal conditions for capturing the beauty of Alaska’s landscapes and wildlife.

FITNESS LEVEL
Participants should be able to climb in and out of boats with photo gear in slippery conditions and handle varying sea conditions. The area is sheltered, with minimal swell, but this tour isn’t suitable for those prone to sea sickness.
