Join us on this 7-day photo tour and workshop showcasing Alaska's stunning beauty. We will stay in King Salmon to visit Brooks Camp, famous for its incredible bear viewing opportunities along the Brooks River. Then, we will head to Seward via Anchorage to explore the Kenai Peninsula. Private boat tours of Kenai Fjords National Park will allow us to capture images of wildlife and glaciers, including whales, eagles, seals, sea lions, puffins, and more. Our private boats can access secluded coves that larger vessels cannot reach.

Day 1: King Salmon
We will take a 45-minute boat ride from King Salmon to the famous Brooks Camp where we will photograph bears and their cubs. We will stay the night in King Salmon.

Day 2: King Salmon to Anchorage
We will once again take a 45-minute boat ride from King Salmon to Brooks Camp, continuing our journey to photograph bears in their natural habitat. That evening we will take a flight back to Anchorage and check into our hotel. The flight is included.

Days 3: Greater Anchorage
We will photograph incredible wildlife and scenery in the greater Anchorage area. Subjects we will look for will include moose, loons, Dall sheep, pika, and waterfowl. We will stay the night in Anchorage.

Day 4: Anchorage to Seward
We will depart from our hotel and drive to Seward, enjoying a scenic journey with planned stops along the route. Anticipate capturing photos of nesting eagles, wildlife, mountains, and glaciers during our drive.

Days 5 and 6: Seward
We will take a private boat excursion to explore Kenai Fjords National Park. Each day, the approximately eight-hour boat ride includes lunch. This stunning national park offers breathtaking scenery. The extended boat journey enables us to photograph magnificent glaciers, seabird colonies, and numerous whale sightings. There are excellent dining options and opportunities for quick photo shoots upon returning from the boat.

Day 7: Head Back to Anchorage
Our journey back to Anchorage with some stops along the way. We will aim to be back in Anchorage by 3 p.m. for departing flights.

Itinerary

The objective of the photo tour is to provide participants with instructional guidance while capturing the diverse landscapes and wildlife of Alaska. Using land and private boats, the tour aims to access remote locations for photographing coastal fjords, glaciers, mountains, forests, and wildlife, including numerous bears and bald eagle sightings.

  • Six nights lodging. If you prefer a single room (single occupancy), there is an additional $300 fee. Simply select the Single Room option on the shopping cart if you desire your own room.

  • Four separate private boat rides

  • Professional Instruction on photography, wildlife identification and behavior

  • Transportation from the hotel to field locations is included. We use private vans and boats to ensure easier access to wildlife without the hassle of parking or multiple cars following each other. No need to rent a car.

  • Food and drinks will not be included. We will eat at local restaurants. Each participant will be responsible for their own food tab.

FITNESS LEVEL
This trip will include some hikes from
1 to 3 miles. Participants must be
comfortable climbing in and out of boats
with photo gear in slippery conditions
and riding in changing sea conditions.
Not recommended for those
prone to seasickness.

SKILL LEVEL
Open to all photography enthusiasts,
from beginners to professionals,
who appreciate nature and enjoy
small group settings.

GETTING THERE
Participants will fly into King Salmon (AKN). Alaska Airlines and a couple of other companies have direct flights to and from Anchorage.
